| Cliff Notes - Woman hits my new truck. Parks somewhere else. Witness leaves me a note. All of us are eating at the same restaurant. Cops show up, woman is busted by eyewitness and security cameras - gets 2 tickets - vindication! I finally decided to get a truck today (07 tundra). It took me 7 hours in the dealership. I take the wife to dinner in the new truck and when we come out there is a note on my windshield. Someone has hit me, left the scene, and a good Samaritan bystander left me details of the event (including asshole's tag# who hit me). The witness was still inside eating so I met up with him and got details.
He saw this lady back into my truck, scrape across the front bumper obviously causing damage. She eventually wiggles into the spot correctly, gets out, checks my bumper and her car and decides to move her car. The witness saw the whole thing. I go outside to file a report (truck is 6 hours new to me at this point). About 15 minutes after I call in, a cruiser comes by. The witness and I are telling the story when the witness spots the car who hit me in an adjacent parking lot. This asshole was eating at the same restaurant and was leaving just as we were identifying her car. She drives out of her way to cruise by me and my truck and realized too late that not only was I standing out there knowing exactly what happened but there was a marked cruiser nearby typing her tag into the computer. She was staring me down as she left the lot and I threw up my hands in the "WTF" position. She tried to haul ass but the cop whipped around and flipped on the lights, a few hundred feet away she pulled over. This beeyoch was STONE COLD busted. Not only did I have 2 eyewitnesses who saw her hit my car and leave the scene, but the restaurant had a fairly elaborate camera system (4 cameras alone in the rear where I parked) that caught the whole incident. It was clear she got out, looked at the damaged caused by my truck, looked back at her car, and drove off. My truck has minor scratches and paint rubbed off the bumper. Her POS PT Cruiser had a HUGE dent in the side where she lost the battle with my bumper. She received citations for improper backing & leaving the scene of an accident. Thats 9 points (more than 12 in 12 months = 1 months suspension). I felt vindicated but it sucks that my 6 hour old truck needs paint work and I now get to deal with her insurance company. I would guess a couple hundred to get repaired, but it wasn't about the money. It was about the principle of some piece of shit who hits you and hauls ass. I took EXTREME pleasure seeing this idiot squirm when presented with the facts in front of the officer. I can't wait to repay the good Samaritan favor to a random person when I see something like this going down.
